If you get a chance to see Chelsea, you will not be disappointed. She is such a lovely person to chat with. I love to see her, it is like hanging with an old friend. For her abilities, she is top notch. I ask her opinions on colors and cuts and she is always spot on. I don't get the feeling she is trying to talk me into services I don't want/need.Always leave feeling great and not broke. Go see her! No, really!
I followed Chelsea Knight-King from Urban Betty to her new chair at Haute House. She is an extremely talented stylist and has an incredible gift for hair, especially with color. Chelsea has all of the qualities I look for in a stylist: she's friendly, laid-back, not pushy, asks questions to understand what I want, and gives me honest but helpful feedback about how cuts/colors will work with my natural hair color. I'm naturally a medium-brunette, but Chelsea gave me an ombre balayage several months ago at my request for a low-maintenance color. This weekend I decided to go for less warm/coppery tones and towards a more neutral blonde and the results were incredible. AND whatever secret sauce she used made my hair feel soft and smooth afterwards, not damaged or bleached. Haute House itself is a comfortable, gorgeous space that is welcoming rather than pretentious, with competitive pricing. Parking seems a little scarce so you may want to arrive a few minutes early to find a spot, but fortunately I was able to find street parking easily.
Chelsea is a hair GENIUS! I followed Chelsea to Haute House from Urban Betty because she does the best, most amazing color work I've experienced. I have nearly black hair, but love to have a lighter balayage look. Chelsea just paints that shit like it's no big deal & it looks amazing every time! She takes great care to go over the risks and benefits of styles and colors, letting me know what is realistic and most cost-efficient. She is knowledgeable about trends and the best products to achieve those looks, while minimizing damage to my hair. A few months ago, I had impatiently used a non-salon fashion color that was "semi-permanent", but veered more on the permanent side. I humbly went to Chelsea & told her what I'd done. She not only was kind & nonjudgey about my impulsive decision, she was excited about the challenge of removing the color & getting me back to her beautiful balayage work (where I started). Not to mention, she's hilarious & loves to chat about true crime. It is so hard to a hair stylist who is not only talented, knowledgeable, & intuitive about hair, but also someone who is enjoyable to be around. Chelsea is the whole package. I wholeheartedly recommend her!
